The International Coach Federation defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their potential." Coaching inspires. It supports clients getting from where they are to getting to where they want or need to be. It is based on goals and outcomes, often established only after deep examination and work to decide with clarity and purpose the focus. It involves small steps, follow up and accountability.

Coaching is confidential, from enquiry through each coaching session.

All leaders and people seeking development in an organization can benefit from executive and corporate coaching. Whether you are seeking career growth, retention, breakthroughs, adaptation to change and transition, focus or balance, an active listening coaching partner will establish support for your growth. You will experience stimulation, inspiration, support, challenge, thought and exploration of your journey and aspirations for focused performance.

It can be lonely at the leadership level of an organization. Internal coaches struggle with confidentiality and potential conflicts. Having an outside support with no links to the business can allow for authentic, purposeful and breakthrough results.

Independent studies on the impact of coaching, conducted in 2001, spoke to ROI of corporate spend on coaching. MANCHESTER INC, an executive coaching company, released the results which included improvement in productivity, quality, organizational strength, customer service and shareholder value. Also mentioned were reductions in customer complaints and an increase in executive retention of executives who had been coached. In this study, coaching produced 5.7 times the return on investment of coaching assignments. (See The Manchester Review, Volume 6, Number 1, 2001. McGovern, Lindenmann, Vergara et al.)

Another study by MetrixGlobal LLC mentioned ROI of executive coaching in their study, which focused on Fortune 500 companies. Coaching produced at 529% return on investment and significant intangible benefits to the business such as productivity (60% favourable) and employee satisfaction (53% favourable).
